How to Build a Winning Scholarship Resume

A strong scholarship résumé can make your application stand out before a single essay is read. It’s more than a list — it’s your story on paper.

Start strong. Lead with your impact, not just activities.

Example: Instead of “Volunteer, local food bank,” say “Organized food drives serving 200 families each month.”

Then, keep it clear and easy to scan. Group by categories like leadership, academics, service, and extracurriculars.

Quick Wins:

  1. Use action verbs like “led,” “created,” or “managed.”

  2. Keep it to one page unless a scholarship says otherwise.

  3. Update it every semester — even small wins count.
